problems of planet

We have spent thousands of years fighting for our survival. Yet now we have discovered that our planet is under threat and, to make matters worse, it’s all our fault.

Humans probably first experienced harm from air pollution when they built fires in poorly ventilated caves. Since then we have gone on to pollute more of the earth’s surface. The primary air pollutants in most urban areas are carbon monoxide, nitrogen, oxides, sulfur oxides, hydrocarbons, and particulate matter. These pollutants are dispersed throughout the world’s atmosphere in concentrations high enough to gradually cause serious health problems. The two main sources of pollutants in urban areas are transportation and fuel combustion in stationary sources, including residential, commercial, and industrial heating and cooling and coal-burning power plants .Pollution damage to plants. With the destruction and burning of the rain forest more and more CO2 is being released into the atmosphere. Trees play an important role in producing oxygen from carbon dioxide. This process is called photosynthesis which all plants go though but some yield more and some less oxygen.

Recycle more 15-25% of people don’t recycle. Recycle more using recycling bins, composting. Encourage neighbors, superintendents, colleagues and business. Use compact fluorescent bulbs. Replace three frequently used light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs. Unplug unused electronics even when electronic devices are turned off, they use energy. Get into the habit of switching the power off before you go to bed.

Grow fast growing plants. Plants like bamboo grow faster and produce 35% more oxygen than trees like oak or birch, and require fewer chemicals and care. Make sure that the plants are appropriate for your area, prefer native over introduced species and do not plant problem species.

Use public transportation. taking the bus, the train, the subway or other forms of public transportation lessens the load on the roads and reduced one’s individual greenhouse gas emissions taking public transport removes the stress of long road commutes and gives you a great opportunity to read, think and relax. You also save on parking money and time wasted looking for parks.
Ride a bicycle. Taking the bike instead of the car is a very simple solution. Use your vehicle as a tool against global warming. If you can’t live without car, then use it in a way that minimizes global impact. Buy a hybrid car
Another big problem is water pollution. it covers 71% of the earth’s surface and makes up 65% of our bodies. Everyone wants clean water, to drink, for recreation, and just to enjoy looking at. If water becomes polluted, its loses its value to us economically and aesthetically, and can become a threat to our health and to the survival of the fish living in it and the wildlife that depends on it. How does water pollution occur? Although some kinds of water pollution can occur through natural processes, it is mostly a result of human activities. The water we use is taken from lakes and rivers, and from underground, and after we have used it and contaminated it most of it returns to these locations.

How do we prevent water pollution? Scientist’s project that melting glaciers and land based arctic ice could raise level by as much as 3 feet by 2100.Polar bears could face extinction this century if the arctic continues to melt at its present rate. The sea ice round the north Pole on which bears for hunting is shrinking rapidly.

How can we save rainforest? Rainforests are disappearing very quickly. The good news is that there are a lot of people who want to save rainforests. The bad news is saving rainforests is not going to be easy. It will take the efforts of many people working together in order to ensure rainforests and their wildlife will survive for your children to appreciate and enjoy.
Some steps for saving rainforests and, on a broader scale, ecosystems around the world is to focus on TREES.
-Teach others about the importance of the environment and how they can help save rainforests.
- Restore damaged ecosystems by planting trees on land were forest have been cut down
-Encourage people to live in a way that doesn’t hurt the environment
-establish parks to protect rainforest and wildlife
-Support companies that operate in ways that minimize damage to the environment
Nobody really knows for sure how fast planet is heating up. Experts do know however that if we don’t do something about it, the problem will continue to get worse. What causes global worming? Scientists blame fossil fuels for global warming, you see when you gas or oil they produced greenhouse gases. Then when these greenhouse gases are trapped in the atmosphere, they prevent heat escaping into space and they make the earth warmer. Is anybody doing anything about global warming? Slowing down global warming is a very difficult task and it seems that people can’t agree on what to do. Some people think that if governments make laws about it, that will help. Others believe that it should be up to each person or company to decide what to do. Again the answer is nobody really knows for sure however people who study the earth’s climate can make guesses. They believe that if the earth keeps getting warmer, the sea level might rise, animals may become extinction, and there maybe more storms and floods.
What can I do about global warming? It’s a simple! If you useless energy, you’ll help slow down global warming.
Turn off light when you leave a room
Use air conditioners wisely
Take a short shower
Don’t leave the TV on when you go out.
Earth is everybody’s home and nobody likes living in a dirty home. Together we can make the earth a cleaner, healthier and more pleasant place to live.
